Set passwords

Mail MergePro requires a column with the heading Password. The password for protecting the PDF files is taken from this column. You can either enter the passwords or have them generated by the add-in. Click on the Generate passwords button to have the passwords generated automatically. The add-in then generates an individual password for each PDF file in the Password column.

Protecting PDF files

After you have entered or generated the passwords in the Password column, click on the button Protect PDF files. In the following dialog, you can specify:
  • Which files are to be encrypted (1).
  • In which column the password can be found (2).
  • Whether and which restrictions should be applied to editing the files (3).
  • Whether you want to copy an unprotected backup copy of the PDF files to a subfolder (4).

After you have encrypted the files, you can send them securely by email to the respective recipients.
SerienmailPro takes the tedious task of opening, protecting and saving each PDF file individually off your hands.

Combining e-mails

If you use the following Excel list, each recipient will receive as many emails as there are attachments for them. This leads to confusion and an overcrowded mailbox. In our example, Ms. Miller would receive 3 emails, Mr. Smith would also receive 3 emails, and Ms. Goodfellow and Mr. Grow would each receive 2 emails. With SerienmailPro, you can convert the list so that each recipient receives only one e-mail. This e-mail contains all the individual file attachments intended for that person.

You determine

  • which columns are transferred,
  • from which columns the value is only transferred once, and
  • from which columns all values are transferred.

Another worksheet is created in the Excel workbook based on this information. This worksheet is structured in such a way that an e-mail with a different number of file attachments is generated for each recipient. Use this worksheet as the data source for sending the serial e-mails.
