The “Serienmail” tab is missing in Outlook
After successful installation, the Serienmail tab is missing in Outlook.
This can have several causes.
Create a new e-mail
Have you considered creating a new e-mail? The main Outlook window does not display the tab. It is only visible in the e-mail editing window.
Create a new e-mail and the Serienmail tab will be visible.
Check and correct the status of Serienmail
You have installed Serienmail without any problems. The tab is missing in Outlook, but is present in Excel. Check and correct the status of Serienmail. Serienmail can be activated, inactive or deactivated. To do this, proceed as follows:
- In Outlook, click on the File tab and then on Options.
- Select the Add-Ins entry in the left-hand navigation.
- Scroll through the Add-ins box to see if Serienmail is listed under active, inactive, or disabled application add-ins.
Inactive status
If Serienmail is listed under Inactive Application Add-ins, do the following:
- Make sure that the option COM Add-ins is displayed next to Manage in the View and Manage Microsoft Office Add-ins window and click the Go button.
- In the following dialog box, check the box in front of Serienmail and note whether the text Load at Startup appears next to the text Load behavior in the dialog box. If an error message appears instead of the text, contact your administrator.
- Click OK to apply the changes.
- Check whether the Serienmail tab is now visible when creating a new e-mail.
If the Serienmail tab does not appear despite the above steps, repair Microsoft Office.
Activated Status
If Serienmail is listed under the active application add-ins, proceed as follows:
- Make sure that the option COM Add-Ins is displayed next to the Manage entry in the Display and Manage Microsoft Office Add-Ins window and click the Go button.
- In the dialog box that opens, uncheck Serienmail and click OK to apply the changes.
- Open the Outlook options again and open the dialog to manage the COM add-ins.
- Now check the box in front of Serienmail and make sure that the text Load at start-up appears next to the text Loading behavior in the dialog box. If an error message appears instead of the text, contact your administrator.
- Click OK to apply the changes.
- Check whether the Serienmail tab is now visible when creating a new e-mail.
Disabled status
- In the View and Manage Microsoft Office Add-ins window, next to the Manage entry, change the option from COM Add-ins to Disabled Items and click the Go button.
- In the Disabled Items dialog box, select the Serienmail entry and click Enable. This moves Serienmail to the inactive add-ins area.
- Select the File, Options command again.
- In the navigation pane, click the Add-ins entry.
- Select COM Add-ins in the Manage drop-down list and click Go.
- Now check the box next to Serienmail and check whether the text Load on Start-up appears next to Load Behavior in the dialog box. If an error message appears instead of the text, contact your administrator.
- Check whether the Serienmail tab is now visible when you create a new e-mail.
